InterActions

April 2 – May 25, 2022

Features the work of Deborah T Colter, Robin Crocker, Michele Thrane, Jemison Faust, Jennifer Day, Mary Dondero, and Sarah Z. Short.

This group of artists contemplate the meaning of InterActions. What binds, connects, intertwines, stitches, what energizes. What current keeps hearts beating and moving forward when we feel confused, empathic, and dazed? These female artists working in mixed media, tattered fabric, encaustic, monotypes, pastel, twine, paint, vintage paper, original letters, book pages and remnants of things precious and discarded and often left behind have constructed small works in this exhibtion.

There is a symbiotic, kismet relationship between woman’s work, handiwork and ritual; as though we are trying to remember our connectedness to our history, to keep our traditions and beauty harnessed through our consistent handiwork while our planet is perpetually spinning of course.
